Right, true to my word, i give you the 19 cat/decat dimensions:
first off, heres a pic of my decat:
it's a fancy one with a flange that is free on the body and a conical flared end for a conical gasket. I'm assuming that yours wont be that sophisticated, so I have measured off a spare cat the angle of 'rotation' that the flange needs to sit at relative to the other flange if rigidly welded to the pipe.
So, is everybody paying attention?
The internal bore is 50mm
the square flange measures 80mm x 80mm. The bolt holes are 8mm and are equi-spaced 60mm apart
The 'oval' flange has two 8mm holes spaced 100mm apart, equispaced from the centre of the bore and are of course in line with each other.
Overall length from flange face to flange face is 430mm
Now, that angle of rotation I mentioned is 40°, but obviously it needs to be rotated in the correct direction or it wont fit on the car.
So here's a picture of the spare cat so you can see which way to rotate the flange.
as you look at the picture, the flange is rotated 40° clockwise from horizontal.
Hope that's of some help to someone.
And in 6 months time Schakal will claim I never posted this |

Gay renault, can't they keep everything the same
Flanges are completely different, and woudl require 2 lots of new flanges to be made up.
Presume this is the 16v 19, and i also presume that the cats are different for the lesser spec models.
Will start a new thread to register interest, will need to get a fair amount of interest to make them up, as i ahve to gewt the flanges made up in batches of atleast 20, so thats 20 de-cats i'm gonna have sitting around.
Pipe bore will be 2.5" |
