you mean the one the connect to the front corner of the box? If so i've removed that, also even tho the rear dog bone mount is rattling around now, I still havent been able to pull it right off as there isnt enough clearance there to do it. |

the frt pass side subframe bolt on mine was hidden behind the plate that the towin eye is attached too...so had to remove that first....and yes pinch bolt will have to be undone...in the engine bay tho i think...pull up gaitor on top of steerign rack where it meets the column. |

i ran the gt turbo uprated on my tuned 1.8 16v last year. heavy clutch tastic! lol
leave the column bolt in palce wen lowering the passenger side of the rack. to big bolts to lower subframe. 16mm at the front. 19mm at the back. i manged to make about 12inch gap for the box to slide thru the wheel arch. saves lifting 30kg's in and out the engine bay. once ur done, ul find the steering column has been pushed upwards- the actual shaft itself moves about 1inch further toward the driver. get a big socket on the wheel hub and smack it back down with a hammer. sorted |

Ah, so that 200mm clutch will fit? You mean the hub on the steering
wheel?
Jimbo, did you not like the uprated clutch? What clutch are you using now?

i went back to using the standard williams clutch. the uprated gt turbo clutch liked being abused. held the power real well, but it did only last 6months, until the friction plate springs broke.
yeah, take of the steering wheel boss, then smack the column back down about an inch. ul no u got it right, cus the steering wont screech wen u turn it, and the self cancelling of the indies works! lol

Discovered i'd missed a bolt just above the diff....if I hadn't been told about it, i'd never have found it, so now the gearbox is loose, just need to get that rear bracket off and it should pull free. |

Right, i've undone the subframe and its dropped about 1.5-2 inches...however it doesnt seem to want to go any further....ideas? Also, how on earth do you get the speedo cable out? Even though i've lowered the subframe a bit I still cannot get the bloody rear engine mount bracket out, its now the only thing stopping the box comig off. Also, how do I get the track rod end ball joint off? i've tried hammering it... Pics will follow later...

Hit the track rod end from the side with a hammer, hold another one to the back of it at the same time. Should just drop out..."should" |

have u undone the shock absorber from its top mount, and also the tie bar from the subframe to the inner arch? once theyr free the subframe will drop a good few inches. the speedo cable will come out, when u press the white plastic base of the cable that goes into the box. tho somtimes a good yank can remvoe it easily.
as for the track rod end. put the nut back on a cupla threads, then smack it loads with a hammer. will loosen easily then. jsut dont smack the bare thread, as itl distortreal easily.
