Couple of things:
It is (apparently) offensive to call them Gypsies. I prefer the more politically correct title - 'Members of the thieving community'.
I am rattling my brain for the facts here, but I remember something about there being a very long wait for houses in Amsterdam (>5years?). As a result a lot of people live in canal boats throughout the city. Not a bad place to live, and a change of view/neighbors is a convenient possibility...
That boat looks totaly mint and very cozy, it would be a nice weekend retreat, especially with that stove fired up. |
