get decat and cams for 300 easily.....if u have a spare valver...get the cams out of that and send em off for regrinding...theres a place near me that does it for 160 all in.

then just refurb the spare set of tappets like this: http://www.nuvision.ndo.co.uk/tappets.htm

then get em in there...

decat may require some hard work gettin the old cat off...may be well rusted on...will most likely require heat..pop along to your friendly ATS/Kwikfit and slip em a fiver to slacken the bolts.

chet hows urs running? do u still have a problem with det?? r u running any sort of charge cooling?

Off the road at the minute. My new T28, manifold and downpipe should arrive tomorrow and it'll be back in business.

Det is only really an issue on 95ron. With the special brew + fastchip management its perfectly drivable.

Using a vw intercooler at the min, not mounted in a great position tho Sad I hope to come across a cheap charge cooler someday!

Should be so much better without the restictive leaking manifold Very Happy Very Happy

Hi guys im back , did'nt get to take head off this weekend ...but i did get to go to Brands Hatch to see Formula ford and Form 2000 so that was cool anyway.
While i was there,i managed to get a copy of Modern Engine tuning by A.Graham Bell, must say .....very interesting.....but now im wondering Idea Idea Idea If im gonna get my cams re-ground

1. how many stages are there available [ i presume theres 5 ]

2. can i source 1 piece valves anywhere [comp valves loads slimmer than std ones]

3. if so would it be a good idea to backcut the valves to increase flow

4. still a bit confused on ideal duration and lift

5. S**T i think i've caught the bug............ Mr. Green

I think you really don't have a clue do you! lol

1. Stages mean nothing as I keep saying. I had a stage 4 breakfast and a stage 2 shit this morning.

2. Why? And I would also like to know where to get 1 piece valves for sensible money, thats not 50quid a valve. Whats wrong with 2 piece undercut stems?

3. what do you mean by back cut? The head or the stem?

4. yep I'll bet you are.

5. you have caught the lets talk nonsense cos I have no idea about anything in fact I should really be on clio sport or RSC bug.

Btw this is all in jest mate, don't take it badly.
