nice new bits....note the clip doesnt go with the plastic bits...i just bought them all so i cud choose.

did yours come out ok or did you have to struggle too ,and most importantly was the speedo drive in the gear box working fine after ?

i broke mine gettin it out....didnt have time to waste as it was when i was gettin the engineout, so i just yanked on the cable...

obviously have had the hatch running yet, but i got another cable and new clips, so it wont be a problem.

if u can look at the hole it came out of in the box and see if it is just metal or not.

on my first pic, themetal lump in the middle should be attached to the cable.

then u get a white plastic bit and a black plastic bit seperatey.

mine was stuck solid. had to pick the plastic bits out of the hole after with needle nose pliers.

yeah i have tried the yanking method which ended up geting the cable out only . the metal lump is still in there and have not got a clue how to get it out now .

i am just wondering if the bit that spins the cable inside the gearbox is fecked or not ,if it is ,there is no need for me to bother looking for a new speedo cable now is it ?

how much was the cable from renault?

i think it has already been determined that your cable is fecked and you need a new one.

i am saying if the gearbox end fecks up while i am taking the remains out there is no need to buy a new speedo cable as it wont work Wink

oh gettin the bits out should cause damage unless u do mad things like slammin a chisel down the hole...just pickin it out is ok...its whether the damage is already done or not

it probably evaporated that plastic white crap .

anyway ,i cant get the metal lump stuck inside the box drive now ,will i give extra damage if i stick a thick screw in the midle of it to gt some grip and pull it out ????

now the most important question is ,is my gear oil gonna piss out from the gap thats left after taking this lump out ???
