send it off, normally around 80 quid. Or try it on an RSI. |

so in this case a r19 1.8 MPI happens to be B53V where my 1.8 SPI is a B53Y
??
by the way, are the injectors located in those holes on the head where it mates the manifold on a MPI ?
does that mean i need to get the suaitable injectors for the conversion as well ???
too many questions to ask ,sorry to be a pain people |

no they go in the manifold.
Now let me get this straight, you are converting from SPI to MPI. You then ask if you have to get suitable injectors? Is it me or does that quesion not make you look a muppet? What to do is just leave the fuel line open, pop it in the throttle butterfly and then you have full power all the time.... |

can you bare in mind that i have never seen any of those components in my life ? and i am trying to figure out the logic of this stuff with every clue i can possibly get .
so the injectors are allready in the MPI manifold and its all about swapping the manifolds and connecting the fuel lines etc |

only if you get the manifold from another car. If your daft and buy new bits then your gonna be well into the thousands. |

of ocurse i am not buying new bits , i got the ECU of a clio rsi as you allready know and planning to get the wiring loom and the manifold from a laguna 1.8 8v in a scrap yard .
might have to get those special r19 1.8 rsi hoses from renault though ,and a manifold gasket i suppose ????? |

yep you do know you need the exhaust manifold as well though right?
Get what you can off the laguna including the stubby coolant hoses at the TB (you will know what I'm talking about when you see it) |

did not know about the exhaust manifold , whats the difference between the two anyway ? is the MPI one bigger ??
i was reading on dialogys yesterday about "F3P ENGINE WITH REDUCED CUBIC CAPACITY " so some of them lagunas with f3p engines are 1783cc instead of 1794cc . i suppose the bits of a 1783cc laguna may cause troubles ,what do you think ??? |
