Tried a hill start last night (and believe me it's some hill). Pulled away fine then changed to second near the top and it started "slipping"! Think my Gearbox might be leaking around the selector bit on the bottom! Is my gearbox knackered? Is there a seal I need to replace? Could this leak have anything to do with the slipping?

leaks probably from the gearbox input shaft as its a known issue which would indeed cause clutch slip and a new box and clutch is the quick solution.

If a new clutch and gearbox is the quick solution what's the quick and hopefully cheaper one?

I meant the not so quick and hopefully cheaper solution!

not such a bargain now is it lindsey?

cheapest fix, clean the bellhousing etc out, slap a new clutch in then sell it on asap.

Clutch will start to go in another few thousand miles unless you get it sorted properly and thats not going to be cheap.
