Ok, realised today when I went to take the replacement starter off that the positive connections were'nt on right so tightned it up turned the key and all the lights came on. Then turned to start lights went off, let the key fall back and the lights (including the glow plug one) came back on. Does this still point to the starter?[/list]

Tried jump starting yesterday, still nothing!!!! Another starter tommorrow hopefully! Didn't even look at the car today...managed to get thru the whole day without kicking it or swearing at it too! Laughing

I wish it was at mums Chris, think I've broke my thumb!!! Haven't tried bumping it with this particular starter in it, still waiting for the other one from the scrappys! The one I'm waiting for is off a TD.

Would it matter that I've only put 2 or the three bolts back in???? Or that the starter came off a 1.9 Clio?

You dont need a working starter to bump start it, thats the whole point!

LOL. Don't get me wrong, I like a man to open a door for me...buy me flowers etc and I wouldn't object (and haven't) to men stopping to ask me if I need help with the car but it's how they offer help that makes all the difference. If they're chauvenistic about it then they can take a run and jump if they're nice about it and don't treat me like I should be elbow deep in Fairy liquid instead of car then if they can help, great, thank you. One little git saw me come out from under the car the other day covered in oil and said "oh my god, a female mechanic!" little ....

It's really hard being a woman that doesn't object to being independant and doesn't need a man, even when it means getting manky, bruised and breaking a nail or maybe a thumb!

Yes i cook all meals, do washing etc. Do all typical girl stuff but i also do all this and go to work!
