hi,
A m8 of mine has a vauxhall Frontera (petrol 2L) injection, similar inlet system to the 19 from looking at it, throttle body + sensor etc.
problem is if drive it up and down the road when planting your foot it's as if it is having fuel starvation, i.e. blurrrrrrrrrrr sound going downwards in the rev range until i take the foot off it just recovers to keep ticking over.
If i stop the car turn the ignition off and back on again, it is fine standing I can rev it up no probs and driving for the first couple of minutes and then back to the same problem.
I'm thinking Throttle position sensor, any other thoughts??
p.s it has plenty of fuel in it, and would have thought it's not the fuel filter either as surely this would show itself at stand still also!
ta for your thoughts |

your description would give the symptoms of a dodgy MAF.
The frontera was a shit car, the 2l is way to underpowwered for it as is the bigger 2.3
also chack the cam and cran sensors |

i think the frontera is ok, cheap and cheerful, bits are quite cheap too, especially if you cant afford to run a range rover, etc.... |

I hate vauxhalls bad as rover. If you are on a journey somewhere and you see a car broken down its most likely to a vauxhall. |
