Hi, wonder if anyone could shed some light on this or point me in the right direction.
I'm getting vibration through the steering wheel, more noticeable at higher speeds (50+). It comes on strong and then goes off again, consistently in about 3 second cycles. It doesn't seem any worse when accelerating or cornering and i'm not sure where to investigate to find a cure.
(Had a wheel balance & tracking done a couple of weeks back so I guess I can rule that out) |

driveshaft. seen a few do this, sets up a vibration cylce, it can be very bad and even make the car wander a bit.
Check the lower balljoints as well for lay due to the vibes. |

Thanks Chris. Well I have replaced both shafts recently (one brand new) - what should I be looking for, Could they be misaligned or something? |

I had experience with this recently...n/s driveshaft CV joint died on my pug. looks like the gaitor lost it a long time ago as it was bone dry in there...went suddenly too, within a 100 odd mile journey from fine to vibrations, and unstability on the motorway and serious knocking, not just on full lock lol!
btw the beast flew thru MOT! total cost of this car for the last 6 months of motoring = £325! |
