I have a strange problem in my r19 16v phase 1
-when the car is moving and no gear is selected the motor idle speed is 1500 rpm
-after I stop the car the motor idle speed goes to 950 - 1000 rpm
Has anyone encountered this problem?
I also had an motor idle problem when the sensor which can be found below throttle body was disconected. I did not found this sensor in the Hynes manual and I don't know wat it stands for and where is conected.
Do you know what is this sensor for?
Thanks |

Idle sounds fine. Road speed sensor keeps the engine speed up a bit if your moving then brings it back down when stationary.
The sensor UNDER the throttle body would be the TB heater, which is rarely (if ever) connected. As long as your not on about the Red one on the side then thats fine. |

a few weeks ago I changed the fuel pump and with the other pump the idle speed stayed at 950-1000 rpm
this is the third fuel pump and with the other two I didn't have this behavior
Now when I release the throttle the rpm try to stabilize at 2000 and then drops slow to 1500;
With the old pump the rpm drop quickly to 1000 and stayed there
This is also a normal behavior? |
