Hello all,
First post! I was looking around the net for some troubleshooting advise and i came across you guys and i am sure you can help me out, pretty please!
Just bought a 1997 1.2 clio... first car and somthing to run around in.
I have noticed some juddering when trying to accelarate in 2nd gear and also when driving down m/way and dual carridge ways... when i mean juddering i mean its as if the car is having trouble to keep up and the cars judders! Just wondering if anyone has had the same and possible suggestions for where i should start looking!
Just a bit more back ground info... its had a service last week so new plugs etc... also just had a new exhaust system fitted, inc cat etc...
Iam not sure if this has anything to do with this - probably just a wives tale - but the car was used by an older lady from new and rarely went above 30mph! lol..... and iam younger driver and give it a bit more welly, do you think driving styles would have anything to do with it?
Look forward to your responses.

a good thrashing will clear it up and it may cause some issues.
The juddering could be loads of things.
Is it a mk1 clio or a mk2? |

Get the car on the motorway and do 20 miles or so sat on 70-80mph and that should get rid of the cobwebs! engines need a good hot run,low mileage engines arent always the best because they carbon up and just run like crap-no throttle response!. You dont need to thrash the arse off the thing just give it a fairly good trip.
As for the juddering, whats happening, does the steering wheel shake around at a certain speed or does the whole car shake its self all the time?? Welcome by the way |

Thanks for the welcome...
As for your question... funnilt enough it just got a hell of lot worse as i was going to the local casino for a agame of poker.... the entire car was shaking in every gear... i thought the thing was about to fall apart!! lol
I had my RAC number on speed dial.... anyway i made it home but it doesnt look good!
A firend of mine also said about taking it for a trip up the motor way which i was going to do but now i really dont think it will make it to the motorway.... anyone had similar problem or know anyone that has? |

the engine mountains made my old clio judder and vibrate like fahook! I had to change the dogbone one and the top one on the drivers side!
that fixed it! |

Got the car back... and i was a little suprised to say the least!
It was the spark plugs that was causing the car to misfire
I did say i was very green when it came to cars! lol.... however i changed the park plugs last week!!! Anyhow the advise they gave was they said the engine was running too rich - what ever that means!!?!?! can anyone shed any light?! |
