affect on running, only the knock sensor will affect how th ecar runs.

Knock sensor pulls back timing when theres detonation detected.

thanks chris,
the oil pressure light sensor ,is that what gets the reading to the oil pressure gauge on the instrument panel which i believe is next to the temp. gauge ,right ?

no only the 16V's have the oil pressure gauge which does anything.

The oil light sensor just lights up the oil can on the dash when the cars not been started or when you stall etc.

Oil level sender makes the oil gauge beside the temp go up and read the oil level when the ignitions on.

When you start the car the gauge will drop to the bottom.

i was wondering why its down all the time while the engine is running ,so it actually shows you how much oil you have but not when you are driving . i can live with that
cheers chris

when ur driving the same gauge is meant to be showing oil pressure...should be going up and down with revs...but invariably these dont work.
