Been looking at some component speakers to replace my old pioneer two ways upfront. Seen the SPS-171a, but can't find any reviews of much info at alla about em apart from

Any suggestions, thought?

if you go into any halfords they have the none component versions on display so you can give them a listen they have a nice sound are well built and carry a lot of bass through as well

mpt that power full but still 250 peak aint bad, amp umm up they should sound nice but also should work nice of ya head unit, id step up though, pritty sure theres an r and x range above this one

i like the fusion compenent set either the encounter or powerplant range they both the same just different colour and for 140 notes from ya nearest halfrods that aint bad

I'll give it a go, at the moment i've got lots off bass and lots of top end, but not a lot in between, sounds a bit shallow.

should think they would be a nice all round sound but id probably not go for compnents then as your gunna be getting a lot of treble through them, best thing about the alpine is a nice quality sound when on an alpine amp, try fitting a set of after market 13 cm in the back either side of the shelf that might even out the sound a bit more i dont know what your system is so dificult to say, but amped front speakers in the 19 is the way to go, i wanna try fit components and put the tweeters in the top dash grills

gunna do a cracking boot build with fusions encounter series then send umm some pics and see if they will upgrade me for free hehe Wink im still waiting for my free watch though grrrrrrrrrrr

At the moment i've got an alpine 7893r head unit, with the inbuilt v drive amp, or whatever its called Razz, with pioneer 2 ways in the doors and dash, standard rear speakers and a rockford 200w amp with jbl GT3 12" sub....so lots off bass and high end, but midrange is a bit flat.

shouldnt be flat from all those 2 ways but get them components the type r range components if you can afford the 140 notes ffor them leave the dash ones plugged in if you like but see what it sounds like with them unplugged first then getting some half decent 2 or 3 way , 13cm for the rear, you could try amping the type r's when you get them as well you will find its louder and clearer on an amp

head units nice though i got one of them, cant fit it in there though fucking shed load of wires and i fit 20 head units a day and cant fit my own

one gt3 aint that much bass Razz

Popped along to halford on me way home, had a listen to some type R's , pretty good, considering thats a huge halfords store isnt exactly the best audio enviroment, seems like the SPR -176a's could be the ones to go for...

Alpine gear I always found to be quite crap.

Those alpines have quite a wide freq range. But your just gonna get more treble with em.

Have you tried messing with the settings? Has anyone else? I find passengers/children unnattended like to play.

My set up is quite good at the mo, needs more bass though in case anyone cares! lol
