hi all
my car seems to have a strange noise coming from around the gearbox area, when im rolling in gear the noise goes, when i put my foot down on the throttle the noise gets worse, the noise is a scraping sound and it also seems wors when its in 5th gear
seem to hear a lot more road and engine noise in the ph2 the ph1 are really quiet

could be a few things from a wheel bearing to a duff box.
Have a check for play in the wheel bearings and go for a drive then stop then get under and feel the CV boots, they should all be the same temp, if 1 is higher than the rest then this joint is either dry or just plain knackered which makes a racket.
Check the gear box oil level as well. |

i ckecked the gear oil the other day and that seems fine but i may just pull back the cvboot and see if its dry, i may add some cvgrease
its really annoying now the weather is really crap and i start a new job on monday so ill have no time  |
