migweb and a few other places have it mentioned Currently we are under the new drivers act 1995
which stolen from DVLA site
This Act will affect you if you passed your first GB driving test after 1 June 1997 when it came into force. If the number of valid penalty points shown on your driving licence total 6 or more during the two year probationary period immediately following your first driving test, your full driving licence will be revoked by DVLA until such time as you pass a further driving test
but this is being revised at the moment
To which the new rules will be 3 points in your 1st 2 years mean license revoked. That applies to peopel getting licenses back after a ban etc
1 dodgy tyre, 1 red light mistake, 1 minor speeding offence and so on and its all over. |

Seriously, owning a car in Spain is as laid back as getting sucked off... you can drive without tax and the police do nothing, not a lot of people have insurance in rural areas. |

Last August I was in Spain, hired a Pug307 (Not to bad by the way) anyway, foot down on the way back from Gibraltar to Marbella doing about 100 -110 for a full 20 minutes or so, blueies in the rear view, asked for Insurance, got charged 75 euros (£52) no paperwork at all.!!! Not bad I suppose |

Marbella is not very far from my folks. Is that the motorway with the tolls every couple of miles?
I've never had the police even really bat an eye lid at me! Yes, in Spain you are supposed to carry all documentation with you when you drive. |

I never saw much of him after we both booted it away from the first toll lol! Crackin road that, very long wide bends, from Malaga - Torremolinos - Fuengirola - Marbella - Estapona - Sotogrande then on to the Rock.... Wasn't very often I had to lift off the accel that night.... |
