I attempted to do my B+E (car and trailer) test on Wednesday morning.
After doing a couple of hours training I was ready. I arrived, all was well, went in and met the examiner and signed the sheet, away we went.
"Can you read that numberplate sir?"
"Yes it's blah de blah" (I had chosen a hard to read illegal one!)
"Sir is this your vehicle?"
"Yes that one" And I pointed to a Landrover and trailer.
"There is going to be a problem with this vehicle"
It then emerged that because it had no back seats, it was not classed as a passanger carrying vehicle, and therefore could not be used for this driving test.
What's the point in that?
On the DVLA's DVLNI's and another website it states that ANY category B vehicle can be used for the test. However, on the application form it states that front and back seats must have seatbelts, so it just implies that the vehicle must have passenger seats in the back.
Bye bye £55. Hello EU with all its stupid rules and regualtions and stupid people that enforce them.
Wasters. |
