those clios are pain in the ass really ,i was out cleaning my car today my next door neighbour was trying to go shopping on her clio ,its a y reg 1.2 clio and the immobiliser is playing up all the time as she says and could not find the cure for it .the car starts up after a while when it pleases but untill then the immobiliser light flashes .she had to lock and unlock the car many times before it started up . any ideas tips on this one please ?

and what are they going to do about it ? i read your article about the megane and how to reprogram the key ,does it apply to this car as well ???
and would it solve the problem ???

nope its a transponder key.

Its probably a fault with the aerial around the ignition barrel.

you mean the aerial thats supposed to get the signal from the remote control to tell the immobiliser to allow the car start up????

aye, the key has a chip in it and theres a ring around the ignition barrel thats an aerial. If the signal from the key matches the cars then it starts.

But if theres a prob with the ring or its connectiosn the car will not go.

for something small like a key i would say a 00-knock-ometer
