lol I'd hadly desrbie a clutch change as a minor job! Even on the 1.4's you gotta juggle the engine and gb around so on a valver surely its an engine out job. He makes it sound like changing a wheel or summink. Its good how he leaves it till the very end to tell the reader that the clutch is fooked too lol
btw were there any 19's which didn't have a front strut brace? Did the valvers have stronger ones than lesser cars or all they all equal?
Cheers

all strut braces are the same, the meganes equiped also use the same brace as the 19's.
And no not all 19's got the brace. All shells have the mounts for them but the 16V's all had them, diesels I think all had them, the carbed 1.4 energys and the MPI 1.8's did.
The rest all had air boxs that get in the way so no strut brace. |

Thing is, the car was on ebay originally from Leeds. The auction ended "because the item is no longer for sale" - but I know from e-mailing the bidder that the closest offer to £200 got it.
Then this numpty persumably buys it, drives it to Bridlington (bowt 80 miles) then trys to fix it up for the MOT but doesn't - then the clutch knackers!
GUTTED! |

typical ain't it!
If you have the facilities and the nuts and bolts etc are all in perfect nick then whipping the engine outs the way to do it, then again if you have the right gear then changing the oil filter, cambelt etc would involve lifting the engine out cos it makes it so much easier. |
