Well, having read the 'Bacon Roll' thread, I can see that I am in the fine company here of fellow connoisseurs of fried and grilled meat based culinary delights.
I feel, therefore, that it would be remiss of me not to share with you the lowdown on this wondrous product. I can see why George himself thought it was "So good I put my name on it!"
The George Foreman grill range now encompasses a large selection of grills of varying sizes. A veteran Foremanater like myself is used to the old skool original size which could cook 2 burgers and a couple of rashers of bacon at once, with a bun warmer on top (good feature sadly lacking from my current one). After being caned by myself and housemates everyday for over a year when I was a student, the teflon coating on that gave up and led to the purchase of this beast:
Since I got this one, further superior versions have been produced. As it is, it features variable temperature (which I have never used... just leave it on max), and a timer. The timer is a double edged sword however, as you have to 'add' time to it and then press start to turn it on. When the time runs out it switches off. I preferred the older type where you just switched it on at the plug and left it to warm up, and it would stay on indefinately so I could just go away and come back half an hour later or whenever. This one is probably better from an electricity bill point of view
Highly recommended. Once you get proficiently skilled in its use like me, you will devise ways of cooking all kinds of things on it, including eggs (though results are highly variable here and I dont recommend it for the novice foreman user).
Yes, I am bored. |

Oh yes, one other thing. Like a wok, do not, under any circumstances, clean it. Adds to the flavour |

I have to say I think they are crap. Take to long to heat up, don't cook things right due to the time involved so it dries em out.
Gas is my prefered method. |
