Ive eventually found a pic of my old 16v
spent over a £1000 trying to fix ths prob.
u tell me!!
I sold it for 250 as i moved and never had the space to move it with me.
!!
had a cobra cat 1 alarm that we used to scare the shit out of oap's with the trip alarm from the window! 
got 145 out of it as it was decat with a stright through and had been previously owned by a rally driver and it flew!! |

most of them look liek that. Dodgy cap arsing the erngine up, its not hard to tell why!
Basically no pressure = steam pockets, faster you go the bigger the steam pockets get = seized engine.
fiver on a new cap and a decent coolant flush would have avoided it. |

can understand why you both say the expansion, but it wasnt.
3 new caps. 5 coolant flushes, radiator out and flushed, engine cleaned etc.
told renault to check the head gasket, they said time and time again there was no need to!!!

mine looked like that when i first got it. head gasket was gone. |

This one just pressurised inside the expansion tank then blew.
Once did 105 past a cop range rover and then it blew so pulled over and the copper pulled over in front of me. I thought shit. He only wanted to know if i wanted a tow off the motorway!!!!!
Anyways spent over a £1000 trying to sort this Renault. |
