all 16V's have a black top dash.
The exec's dont have the trip comp.
Also some of the very last exec's had the swoopy dash. |

I think the 5drs only came out in 95ish
I've never seen a swoopy dash in reality. Seems like madness to tool up for the RHD one so late |

Sorry are you insinuating that Renault are NOT mad??
Seriously though, are the swoopy dashes similar to the megane dashes at all? The only sensible explanation I can think of would be that they had the dashboard tooling setup before the launch of the megane, and had to find somewhere to put the early dashes (or bits of them at least). |

yeah as far as i am aware the swoopy dash was LHD only, if they tooled up to do RHD there would be a hell of a lot more of them about to make it worth while. maybe it was early tooling for the impeding megane. |

there was a few rhd swoppy dashes, I have seen 1 in real life, but it may have just been a self made one but it looked like the lhd swoopy dashes.
Dashes are the same its just he top bit thats different.
Door cards are all grey, theres 2 shades of grey, light and darker, then you have the minging blue etc, anyway its just the cappings that are black.
On hatches the parecel shelf and side supports for it are black as well in the 16V's. |

i remember you(chris h) mentioning once that some 16v (i think the later models ) have different gear ratios which make them quicker or smth . what was it about ? and what year was the last 16v made? |

ph2's have shorter gearing to try and make them as quick as thre ph1's.
Lower speed in all gears.
But the diff is small. |
