Hello all,

I was wondering whether anyone here knew of a scrap yard in London which has parts for my Renault 19 1.8 RT sedan ?
Since this is very expensive here in Iceland and shipping TO iceland is also very expensive, i was able to get my friend which will be in London tomorrow and for a couple of days, to pick up some items for me and take with him on the plane home Laughing

Any help greatly appreciated Cool

he could try infini car, paul@infinicar.com for details.

he does mainly 16V stuff so he may not have any lesser models parts.

he was based in Bracknell London, but hes moved I think. E-mail him.

if i was you i would still have a go on freeads matey and find a r19 for spares and repair in there . you can probably get a grille for a tenner or less, bumper for 20-25 quid ,wing for a tenner again etc

you can buy a whole car for spares and repair for that money, somebody correct me if i am wrong pls

yeah but its not him whos over here by the sounds of it, and im sure he doesnt want to ask his mate to go looking through freeads papers, then travelling to pull bits of old cars etc. Needs to get the parts delivered to his mate, who then just sticks them on the plane and takes them over there, from what i gather.

Going to need a big suitcase for that lot though!

i dont know the closeness of their matehood but it still sounds a lot to me ,i personally would get a plane ticket and come over myself and collect the bits and have a nose around london for a few days as well,as as bonus .would not cost anymore than what he is paying now.

but then again thats me ,the guy that bought a set of new clio alloys for60 quid ,bargain monster i am .

by the way ,yeah you will have a bit of a problem getting the bits on the plane mate, you are more than likely to pay excess for them .
which is about 4pounds per kilo on many airlines ,trust me on that .
i would make a second calculation and see if i still want to import bits from u.k

you flown to or from northern europe recently mate? prices are £££! at least to Norway, would have thought Iceland would be similar.

to be honest with u neal i never pay more than 45 quid return inc airport tax for a ticket to anywhere around europe . so i really do not have any idea how much a plane ticket would cost in real world mate.

i did not really expect him to come over and pick the stuff up himself anyway ,it was a bit of an exagurated example to show the severeness of the case .

Hehe, you guys are all right Laughing
My friend will only have time on monday to collect things for me before SHE leaves on monday evening.
I knew i couldn't get all the things on this trip due to the size of them.
I thought maybe the grille, indicator, light panel and maybe the wing. Never the bumper, that would be lots in freight.
But also one thing i was thinking about is this....this car is in the exact colour as mine. So if i get THESE parts i dont have to paint them. I know it would be wisest to get blue parts here in Iceland but....there are only 4 blue ones dismantled/dead yet Confused
