Hi guys,
This car is giving me a hard time
I was checking the fuses for the lights when i noticed something horrible.
Where the fuse for the rear window heater "is supposed to be", number 22 or 23.....
There was a blown fuse in pieces and the fuseholder for it was MELTED . I managed to get the metal pieces out but i dont know if the fuse will ever work in that melted thingy...
Is there any way of fixing this or is it difficult to change the whole fuse box with another one from a scrapped car? |

the fusebox melted due to a loose spade terminal in the fusebox.
Anyway assuming you have cleaned it all up as best as you can and scraped the melted plastic from the metal terminals, you shoudl be able to crimp the terminals tighter so its a tight fit on the fuse and it should work.
Unlike say ford with plug in fusebox's renault fuse boxes are part of the dashboard loom. So to swap it means cutting wires then joining them together on the new dash. |

Its not due to excessive use of the rear heater or a crack in its lines?

Heres a pic (because I am so kind) of the back of the dashboard, this is the fuse box.

using a small screwdriver bend the metal terminals in the fusebox in a bit so it grips the fuse tightly. |
