 11 txe 1.7 how do I make it go faster

Hi I am now used to the car and now need to make it go faster
How ?

Carbs
Filter



It was converted to run on unleaded with some gismo plased on the fuel line. think it is a Paozone Fuel Conditioner and had the carb set up.

well the fuel conditioner thing, lob that in the bin straight away. It does nothing.

It will be very slow due to the natur eof its use until you got it so it will be slow and down on power. Will also feel restricted.

You need to start giving it decent runs and using more revs. You will free up the engine and power when you do that.

The rings may be stuck and its common problem with cars that don't get revved or see much use, so maybe some diesel/redex left in the bores overnight will free them up.

A good service will also usually work wonders as will a carb strip and clean.

could I bolt on the turbo from a volvo 440 1.7 as well Very Happy

in theory yes.

But you would be better swapping the whole engine AND you need to run new fuel lines, tank and so on.

The 1.7 turbo engine is crap btw. The only benefit of it over the 1.4 GTT is the larger capacity makes off boost driving easier. The 1.4 when tuned will have more ultimate power.
