Both front wheel drive, they never made a 4x4 in the ph1. I like the ph1's not just because they were the quickest at standard, but a better engine to tune and The clutch and gearbox will take a lot more.......... |

TTR = Renault 21. Race prepared, Twin Turbo, sprint car. (Road Legal). Please don't ask for spec anyone, that would take all day..................... ( 0-60 under 5 sec ). Top speed geared to 150mph. |

You have a straight 4 twin turbo? Thats not very clever is it.
How do you propse to get under 5 secs to 60 with a fwd car like the 21? |

me cynical? Never.
The main problem in getting any fwd car under 5 seconds is traction. There are plenyt that can do it but run solid rear struts and wheelie bars, whheelies bars on fwd, you having a laugh. No it preloads the front suspension so the wheels don't lose traction.
The whole twin turbo things on a straight 4 is plain engineering wrongness. Lots more lag and less ultimate power, even if you use a pair T15 or whatever it is the wee 3 cyl lumps use.
But then again if you get it working then fair enough. |

No lag. Two stage boost . first @ 2600rpm. 10psi. Second @ 3900. 20psi..... This stops traction loss and wheelspin. Trev's car ran 4.75 0-60 with nos, but his car was at least 600 lb heaver. My best so far has been 4.9 0-60. |

The two turbo's run inline. Same downpipe one after the other, yes Chris, sequential turbos. First turbo gives first stage boost, then the second turbo provides the additional boost when the wastegate opens from the first... Both turbos run boost through their own intercoolers before the feed back into the engine. This keeps the air temp down and stops the lag that you get with a larger intercooler. Because of this I can measure the boost from each turbo from inside the car. This makes life easy when it comes to setting up two turbos. The overall boost can also be ajusted from inside the car........The setup now works, but not without all those other ajustments. ECU. TPS. APS. BPsolenoid. Boost pressure limiter. Fuel. Injectors and so on............. THE CAR HAD ITS FAULTS , had, may not be the right word, theres always something needing ajustment, but we love our Retro Cars................ Trev's car was a beast, its now owned by Lyndon the old 21 turbo club president. The engine's ok but the bodys in need of some work. The car cost £5000 to build and it beat ktec's £20000 R5 GTT. Yes it was some car . |
