i have had 2 r 19 1.4 now and both were good cars, i still have my ph2 which came from the scrappy and now i have a new project its a daewoo nexia, the first time i took it out for a spin i was shacked at how fast it was, there is not much damage on hte car just a few dents and when you put your foot down there is a nice deep roar so it will sound nice with a i kit on, the only let down that i can say is that it looks a bit to much like a mk2 astra!
its a
1.5 multi point injection with asb and air bag as standard. |

the nexia is quit nippy all the way it just seems to keep on pulling you can get about 110 out of it quit nicely without it feeling nasty but i dont really want to push it anymore than that. |

It could be one of the 200+ cars they wrote off while making the series. There never was just one General Lee. |

you were shocked at how fast it was? Your 19's must be pretty fecked mate, but I think we knwo that already.
My old 1.4 energy would leave any nexia behind.
They ain't bad but not a patch handling wise etc on a 19. Its a reworked vauxhall mk 2 astra, so you can drop and Xe/LET in etc to make it rapido. |

is it insured?
if so burn the heap of shite or fix it.
Like I said dissconnect the exhaust at the cat front flange then drive it round the block, loud but if its quicker get another cat/decat on it.
You sure the plugs are on the the right cylinders? |

yep the plugs are on the right ones, the car ticks over quite nice but its just crappy when it comes to needing a bit of speed to overtake, i tested my dads megan p reg 1.4 and the nexia pisses all over that aswell, it seems that i must have a rare nexia, mmmm maybe its the fuel filter, is it located under the car just before the rear drivers side wheel |

ive heard the 1.5 (maybe ur 1.4) nexias have problems with valve guides when they get highish mileage (not too high tho) and start burning loads of oil...a common fault apparently |

i finaly found out why my 19 is sluggish, on a longish jerney today i noticed that when i needed to pull off out of a petrol station the cluch was slightly slipping and made a small screech so i looked at the ajuster on the peddle and it was at its max so i pulled the small rubber ring that is on the gearbox arm over the other side giving me a shorter bite and the the car was flying along about 90-100 with no probs but i still think there is more pull in the nexia as 19s have less torque but more bhp
renaut 19 1.4
Max power (bhp/rpm)=80/5750
Max torque (lb ft/rpm)=79/3500
daewoo nexia
Max power (bhp/rpm)=75/5400
1.5 Max torque (lb ft/rpm)=91/3200 |
