I gave the old girl a good going over yesterday, and found that on the o/s there is some play when you do the 'grab the wheel' test at 12 and 6. The free movement seems to come right from the shock, although I may be wrong. It doesn't bounce when you press down on it with wheels on ground, but it does creak and groan when you lower the jack down to start putting load on it.
Would I be right in my assumption...or just plain wrong?

clio top mounts are crap
Jack the car up and watch the shock top mount, if you can see movement its fecked, they all go.
But it could be loose stut to hub carrier bolts.
Balljoint will be under pressure so won't move when the cars jacked up.
I'd say top mountings. |
