You'll need to get a manifold made up for it, the one the clio uses would place the downpipe somewhere near your heater controls inside the 19 lol
Still go with the megasquirt man, even more of a challenge |

Does the standard ECU control the VVT activation on these? There is a MAP parameter for it, so im assuming it does. In this case it wont be functional with an aftermarket ECU, right?? |

Soneji, The VVT is ACTIVATED by oil pressure....it has MAP and RPM inputs to control it.
Chris, how? |

well it depends on the ECU you use. But theres various things you can use to activate it.
For example we shall look at the Lotus Elise and the humble MGF.
Both use the K series lump and both use the same/similar ECU.
One uses an ECU output for the shift light (elise) the other uses it to kill the A/C when a certain rev point is breached. These can be altered.
Use a similar switch point to activate the solenoid.
But lets ignore that crap. Bin the VVT as its useless aside from emmisions which a ropery old 19 won't have a problem with to the same extent anyway. So bin the VVT crap and fit decent cams.
VVt that activates at 1500rpm is hardly worth mentioning as VVT! |
