'lo peeps, been a tad hectic round here the last while so haven't been on much
The new (blue) 19 went for its test today. As some of you know it ate a few of its gears a few weeks back so has been off the road.
Luckily theres no specific test to say the gearbox needs to be working so there was no problem getting it tested. I never bothered lookin over the car only a basic lights check before i brought it in.
Here's what it failed on:
Battery insecure - i forgot the clamp was missing
DSF Tyre - Directional tyre on the wrong way round
DSF Brake Caliper - Sticking
DSF Suspension Spring - Bit broken off the top, thought the car looked a tad lower this mornin...
Brake Bias Valve - Disconnected apparently, a tech article shall be printed!
Not bad at all for a car that hasn't had a thing done to it in months! |

missing clamp is very common. I had to dig out a clamp for the red car.
Tyre easy to sort.
Caliper sticking, is it the piston or more likely the sliders? Easy fix matey.
Meganes spring snapped the other day had to change that. It was cutting into the tyre.
Bias valve, remove it then it can't be tested. |

I'd rather get it workin right but it depends on which is easier 
Emissions:
CO: 0.57vol% - fail above 3.5%
HC: 148ppm - fail above 750ppm
Hows that compare to uk emission tests?
Alignment test:
front axle - 1m/km
rear axle - 0m/km |

still got a functioning (just) cat then.
0.5%CO and 200ppm HC fail.
If its pre aug 92 then your allowed 3.5%CO and 1200ppm HC
what the feck are those trackign results about! lol Only the irish work in km's for tracking. |

We're gone metric now. All new car speedos are in km's and road signs are changing on the 20th  |

when driving cars with km clocks you tend to drive slower. Psychological thing. 180kph seems really fast when its only 110mph |

thats gunna be chaotic for a while i bet with all the road signs changing to km but all the old cars still reading mph....
