I carried out the ICV clean-up procedure as described in your Tech Article about the Megane 1.6 stalling problem.
Could you tell me how loose the central plunger of the ICV should be ?
Mine was very stiff even after cleaning and when I re-installed the ICV the car was running with an idle speed of 3,000 rpm !
I came to the conclusion that I had pushed the plunger all the way in during the cleaning process, so I pulled it out to its limit and re-fixed it - this seemed to cure the problem.
It might help if you could add the information about the movement of the plunger to your Tech Article.
For example: if it should have a 'loose' movement then the fact that it is stiff may mean that it's in need of replacement rather than just cleaning it. |

The bit on the plunger that I pulled back is spring loaded. However the pointy bit that does the plunging should be very hard to move.
I will add a bit about it though.
