is the pulley keyed to the crankshaft, or just bolted up tight enough to stop it rotating? its been a long time and i cant remember. |

No it aint keyed, it's 90Nm of pressure on a torque rench.

Yes its keyed.
Only engine that I can think of at the mo where its not keyed in the pug lumps.
But the bolts tightness is what stops its rotating not the key. If the keys left to do it the crank/pulley wear.
Plenty of vx's and fords have passed to me with what appeared to be dodgy timign which was worn key slots. |

i was going to be pedantic, and mention that N.m is a measure of torque....not pressure. but i cant be arsed |

in fact reading the title properly, the aux belt pulley is NOT keyed to the crank only the camblet pulley.
Like Elviscat correctly stated. |
