Hi,

Excellent forum guys.

Quick question re the above. Got a 1998 Megane and the batteries in the key fob died yesterday. Fitted new ones and got the immobiliser code from Arnie Clarks without any prob.

Followed the guide from the Tech section, managed to start car OK but cant get the key resynched. Mibbe its me being a bit of a plank, but when you enter the last digit of the code, the light goes off then on for 30 secs, should I wait till the light goes off before holding down the central locking button to resynch the key?

Thanks

you shouldn't have to wait but if its not working try waiting untill it goers out but I'm sure its after the shorter interval. I cannae mind been a while now since I done it.

it took me a few tries to get it to re-synch though.

Looking like a trip to Renault in the morning Sad or else I'm gonna be stuck in Dundee forever!

Tried just about every combination I can think of but just got that feeling that I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks for your help, off outside to try again shortly...

If you can't get it to re-synch drive back down to Glasgow (I assume yo ulive there) and give me the 40 quid they'll take and I'll do it and shopw you Razz

Seriously, buy me food (large big mac meals always a winner) and I'll re-synch your key for you.

You can still drive it its just you can't plip the doors open. theres no limit on how many times you can enter the code.

Muirhead, sort of between Glasgow and Cumbernauld but tend to spend most time up in Dundee as doing a course at Abertay uni.

First time Renault owner and well pleased with it... Apart from right this moment!

Aye know where you are, used to live in cumbernauld and Lenzie for a time which isn't to far away.

Used to live in Dundee as well with an ex mrs, stayed in the uni digs for a while.

I like Dundee.
