alwight.
anyone know where that stink comes from when you cane these cars, smells like exhaust fumes escaping and coming through the vents into the seating area but only when it upwards of 5.5-6K?

are you sure it is the exhaust stink . might be your clutch slipping hence burning at high revs and stinking |

a slight oily mining whiff?
They all do that sir.
I reduced mine lots by fitting 2 grommets that were missing in my scuttle thus sealing off the engine bay from the interior fan. |

I quite like the smell. Its like another aid to let you know when you should be getting ready to change gear.
No wonder my gearbox is knackered. |

na it aint the clutch as that's new, i think your right in as far as to say they all do it, where exactly are those holes on the blower??
Although i'm up for high octane smellies, it could be be a little more comfortable with it being a little less.

holes in the scuttle. Remopve the plastic tray that goes over the battery in front of the screen. On the passneger side theres a hole for aircon piping and so on to pass through, on non AC cars theres meant to be a grommet there, mine was missing so air straight from the engine bay was going straight into the cabin.
On mine some muppet fitted a new speedo cable and drilled lots of holes as well behind the battery which I had to seal off as well. |
