I thought that would but the case but the reason i ask is that a few years ago i had a n/a R5 and which i wanted lowered. The front shock absorbers i got were *supposed* to be GTT ones but didn't fit - only one of the bolt holes in the strut would reach the hub when the unit was connected at the top mount. I'm 95% agreeing with your earlier comment but this has left me with cause for concern - do you they actually were the wrong ones and i'll be ok with GTT items?

Thanks in advance again.

GTT top mounts differ from normal 5 top mounts.

However they should actually fit. The top mounts are angled differently due to the increased track on the GTT.

GTT units will fit normal top mounts the hub may sit at a slightly funny angle but nothign to dramatic.

Also GTT top mounts are no longer avaiable new. Alans GTT needs a drivers side top mount and we can't source one.

gt turbo ones fit but you will need gtt top mounts because otherwise you will have to much camber (around 2.5 degs). what 5 is it for?

Well, it's likely to be for a 1.4 campus prima. I'm selling my Clio 16v to go back to uni and want a cheap yet fun run-around so this was my idea. Another question...i take it you can get and get away with running plain lowering springs in the std n/a 1.4 struts (assuming i can't/don't use GTT items)?

Just noticed - you're the guy with the 16v R5 - what suspension setup are u running (gtt/std)?

you can get away with just fitting the springs but if the springs are stiffer(most of the time thay are) your dampers may not last to long as there have to work harder than designed, and its possible that with old dampers the things will start to fail with in a week or two but this only applies to the front. running gtt koni or leda (leda are height adjustable not adjustable rate) I have some lowered uprated gtx springs and dampers around somewhere with gtx top mounts they are de carbon items front and rear would you be interested??? The dampers maybe no good but the springs will defo be ok only done about 5-10k miles pm me if your interested. hope this info helps.
