Ok, so far i've got a de-cat, ITG panel filter and given the car a service (new plugs, oil, oil filter and skimmed head and head gasket) so what would be the next step?.
It's only a 1.4 SPI but surely there must be a few more reasonable mods to free up some more ponies. I hear of people putting a 2l Megane injector on?. What is that going to do exactly?.
I'm getting a Valver in a few montsh but wouldn't mind seeing my Clio go a bit quicker before I sell her.
So any input would be great, cheers. |

Its not a megane 2litre injector, that woudl be no use.
What you want my good man is a 19/laguna 1.8 SPI throttle body. Its larger than the 1.4's and you need to enlarge the mating face hole on the manifold but you do notice the gain. |

As a question Chris. Could you change the head and make it a multi point? Know this is not really an option but was just curious. |

So you can put a Mk2 Clio MPI head on?. How much would that set you back?.
Also, whats the mating face hole?.
Cheers. |

Ah right cheers Shackal. Does sound like a bit of a job. What benifits would the the 19 SPI give?. And do I just need the throttle body?.
Cheers. |

errrmm....
i thought you were saying you want to turn the SPI to an MPI, i have a 1.8 SPI and want to make it a MPI sometime.
as far as i know ,all you need is the right inlet manifold of a full inj. renault car . the wiring loom and the ECU ,plus a few other bits which are not hard and expensive to find .
did you read all the posts on that thread ?
i am expecting a change from 95bhp to 113bhp as these are the standard figures for 2 renault 19s with the same engine came in SPI and MPI versions . |

Oh yeah sorry Shackal I was considering it, but seems like a bit too much work.
Yes Chris I did read what you said, just seems a bit too simple |
