not had a movie thread int eh last coupel of weeks so what have we al watched lately then?
Saw that 50 first dates, romantic comedy thing, surprisingly good, worth a watch, quite funny.
Confesions of a teenage drama queen, not even the lovely Lindsay Lohans cleavage could save this dire film, no consistency, utter guff, avoid, Mean girls is a far superior film.
Sorcerer Roy Scheider stars in this 1977 classic. Basically him and a team have to deliver a cargo of nitroglycerine 200 miles through the jungle filled with dangers to an oil field to extinguish an oil field fire. Why they couldn;t just chopper it in close I have no idea but thats not the point is it. Worth a watch if you can find it! I bought mine from the US.
Pocahontas 2 worse than the 1st film, children will say its crap as well.
Seen all the extended versions of lord of the rings, if your buying the films get the extended versions. |

rented Bulletproof monk, Big Daddy and 2001 space oddesy...
the choices were mainly with the boyo in mind, big daddy is funny, with adam sandler, bulletproof monk is alright, usual cheesy martial arts film, but worth a watch and 2001 is as it always was....weird...
i fell asleep watchin 2001...my son actually got up and said "im goin to bed" ...lol
ive noticed ITV2 seem to be puttin a film on every night at 9 now so thats always a good one to watch out for... |

big daddy is quite good.
Bullet proof monk is so so.
2001 is one you need to be in the mood to watch. "HAL why are you trying to kill me?" "I'm not David, I'm protecting you" |

went to see oceans 12 last night - loved oceans 11, one of my fav films of all time.
12 I wouldn't say was as good as 11, seemed a bit 'bitty' if you see what I mean, the whole heist bit was dissapointing wasn't anywhere near as good as in 11.
Funny film though and would recommend it as a 'chill out and don't concentrate too much' kind of film.
I give it 3/5
Also saw Ray on monday night, and loved it, great music and Jamie Fox got the whole character and menerisms(sp) of Ray Charles spot on.
Quite a long film (2.5hrs) and a bit depressing in parts but great music, ended a bit abruptly though, would like to see the full 5hr version, no doubt the DVD will have that.
5/5 for that. |

Meet the Fockers is funny - not much else to it but then there was never meant to be
Blues Brothers is right up there in my all time fav films.
Saw "Life is beautiful" a while ago on DVD - italian (dubbed in english) film about the jews in the concentration camps in ww2, excellent film, very serious message (obviously) but done in a very funny way - was falling off my seat in some places, yet was very respectful and sobering at the same time - it's the good old cleche (sp?) you'll laugh, you'll cry film.
6/5 for that one, a must see. |
