Anyone know if the Phase 2 front end (bonnet, bumper, grill, lights) are interchangeable with the Phase one?
I don't envisage too many differences; however I don’t want to pay the money for the bits if it's going to be a pig to fit. |

yes but the question is why do you want to make a ph1 16V look like a ph2 1.4? |

yes but the ph2 16V looks exactly like a ph2 1.4.
On the ph1 its totally different and cannot be mistaken for a non 16V |

Wicked Neo's white is a phase 1 with phase 2 front end bits (except the bumper), could ask him whats involved. Just a bit of cutting I think, although he did mention welding as well, maybe that's to do a proper job... |

its all bolt over! No weldings involved!
You will be missing the top headlight/grill mounting holds but thats no biggie |

the other 3 hold it fine.
You might have a late ph1 witha ph2 shell anyway so the brackets may be there. |

I just drilled the holes for the grill mounts and the top headlight mounts, very very very easy job.
Mine was done before i bought it and like Chris said, it's just a bolt over job, i've tidied it up by drilling the extra holes, bolting in the lights and grille properly, made the bonnet line up better etc.
Also cos my phase 1 is the 16 valve it has the indicators in the front bumper where as on the phase 2's they are next to the headlights so i wired up the extra indicators next to the headlights so they also work as well as the ones in the front bumper.
proof it can be done
The white 19 is the phase 1 / phase 2 hybrid.

Back end wise, I think you will need to rehouse the number plate. if you put it between the lights like on a phase 1 then you might have to remove the rear light/reflector board, which in turn house's the fog light. |

yes you would but I thought that would be obvious
also if you remove that gay rear ppanel on the tailgate your left with holes that need filled. |

Must admit the reflector panel does look utter pants, my 4 door looked so much better with it off when I was changing my cracked one. RENAULT, YOU BUM HEAD MONKEY ARSE'S!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
Chris I am turning to the dark side I am starting to think that the phase 1's are much better looking cars. |

I have to disagree with you there, I think the rear reflector (on the chammy at least) is the best part of the ph2 styling - schakal will back me up on that but then that's not neccessaraly a good sign
I am convinced that the p1 valver front is way better than the ph2 now though |

the reflector panel is the best bit of ph2 ,you ph1 owners are just jealous me thinks .
this will sound like a chavy idea as normal but i want to get my front and rear bumpers out and replace them with nicely black sprayed ph1 bumpers .

I have to admit that thought crossed my mind a while ago when I saw a set of red front and rear ph1 bumpers and sideskirts on ebay. |
