Hi Guys,
After fitting my new clocks (thanks for all the advice by the way) i thought i better check my idle ( i knew it was a bit high anyway)
The haynes manual says 750rpm +/-50.
When i took it down to that it almost cut out, and was bloody squeeky. I turned it up a bit more to 850rpm, she idles ok, but is still damn squeeky.
The only way i can stop it sqeeking is to take it up to 1krpm. But it then runs a bit fast.
I have been told by a few people that i may need my cam belt tightened??
True of false??
The squeeking is coming from the belt on the left side of the the engine (1.4 energy GTS) I think.
Any ideas??
Cheers
Ben |

cam tensioner probably.
You also will need to alter the mixture when changign the idle speed. Need a stubby driver though. |
