Ok.
so i was driving down the road, and had to give way.
foot on break foot on clutch..when SNAP...feel the clutch shake under my foot, and it looses all its tenstion..
so..first thing..."bollocks...clutch cable snapped"
bring my foot slightly up off the clutch. clutch stays on floor.
take my foot right off. and it comes back up.
then.. i decded to press it again. and it worked fine. didnt play up at all for the rest of the journey.
thought maybe it was the clutch its self.
nope, all test were ok...uphill..dip at 40-50-60 etc.
alls good.
werid eh?
p.s didnt know whether to post this in the tech quetsions of genral chat.
seeing as im not asking a quetsion, just thought id mention it to you lot. i put it in here, sorry if its wrong place to put.
1.4 E7J clio btw. |

funnly enough was just reading it.
so forking out for a new pedal eh
it works fine for now. once i get time. and its light ill have a nosey at it.
but surly if it had broke, it woudent of been able to "fix its self". (ie come back up, and use as normal?)
i assume it would of stayed to the floor. |

was well easy to change out, took me 20 mins, i was gonna leave it until tomorrow (saturday) but i decided to do it then and there.
Hint. Assemble the pedal in the warmth of your home first, the kit comes as components.
so much easier to have it all in one piece before you attempt to put it on.
i took the trim by the adjustable steering column lever off and the heater vent pipe, not for easier access, just for more light down there so i could see what i was doing lol. |
