heres a proposal that can cater for all tastes
huwwatkins and myself had planned to go up to scotland at the end of next month (march to save you thinking about it), namely to Loch Ness.
nothing has been set in stone with regards where to stay, where to go etc etc, but we have the outline for it, don't we plus neither myself or huw have been to bonnie scotland before
There is a youth hostel situated on the A82 road. the hostel lies on the north bank of Loch Ness, 24 miles south-west of Inverness and 4 miles north-east of Invermoriston road junction (for Isle of Skye).
the castle that is always shown in pictures of the loch is only a few miles up the lake from the hostel.
Link for the hostel:

Of course inverness is half an hour drive away from the hostel so a night out would be sorted, and im sure there are heaps of hills to go hiking up and down and a good few local taverns close by
Just an idea i/we thought would tickle the fancy of the retro-renault patrons Also a damn good excuse for a mother-truckin kick ass cruise up to scotland
...just a thought |

Having spent many a night out in Inverness i can tell you its a good night out and the A82 is a good sight seeing road, past Glencoe etc, just out of interest for anybody, along the Skye rd (A87) sits the castle that was used for the Highlander films, the one with the foot bridge going over the moat, its open to the public and they have a little shop and things like that, it sits just short of Dornie. |
