Is the remote central locking receiver in my clio specific to my car?
Or does it just used as a hub to communicate with the immobilizer?
What i'm getting at is, can i put one from another car in mine because mine has water damage.
If it is matched to my key and specific to my car, i take it its the phillips chip on the board that holds any code recognition as the rest of the components are just basic resistors, diodes, capacitors and transistors.
Meaning... i could remove the chip and put it onto another receiver and it would work...right??? |

if its old as in mk 1 clio then yes its specific. The later cars like the meganes etc are not coded just simple receivers.
So if its an old one then get to the scrappy get the key fobs along with the receiver. |
