my valver has done 74000 miles but seems a bit sluggish of late, admittedly Ive fitted a K&N go slower induction kit (ciomming out soon)! But any ideas on how to perk it up? (doing oil change on weekend) |

yeah you've got a point mate, I think this is 90% of it, what oil do you recommend? so many different opinions. Any other little TLC tweaks? |

i just use £11 VW-Audi semi synthetic stuff from the VW-Audi motorfactor down the road, seems good enough....
I find it quite funny when i look on cliosport at the discussions about oil, and people falling over themselves trying to get the specific type of ELF oil that Renault recommend... i mean, do people really think that Renault designed the engine at a molecular level to only work best with one particular brand and type of oil (that they just happen to have a vested interest in)? |

I use 8 quid 10W30 semi synth from the factors.
When I changed my 16V's oil last tiem it was a tad overdue, when it was changed though the diff was noticeable straight away.
I need to change it again come to think of it.
A clean of the throttle body woudl also probably help. I done a guide on it. |
