what thehell is a power calibration error? Only happens sometimes and usually when trying to back up the same discs.
After 5 or 6 arse ups its normally ok. Very expensive though! |

nah the discs are fine mate, same as usual.
It copied fine this time.
The other one is having a data problem. Which I reckon means a duff source disc. Sound abotu right?
It plays fine etc though |

what writer you using mate also when copying what else is your pc running??
it def aint the blanks hes using,,,ritek go4s and go5s as they never let me down,,
the dodgy ones bring them to me as im gonna try them on both my machines as if theres any faults the big 1 will pick em up as its got a fussy reader

readers not a problem as i stick em in the pioneer drive and they won't copy to the hard disk. |

right just before it spits out a disc tthen it fails.
I now have a pile of 11 discs that have gone tits up this morning |

Try upgrading the firmware for the drive.
Because of the various type of dye that gets used in DVD media the drive will have set level for each type of dye or disc. If the drive comes across an unknown type of media it will take a best guess and hope it works.In the case of your drive its best guess doesnt seem to be the right one.
Upgrading the frimware will allow it to recognise more media and should sort most of your problems.
Ps this also goes fro CD writers too. |

firmware etc has been done.
The discs are the usual discs, I thinkt eh writers had it. I had some problems a while back with a normal cd writer. But if I reduced the copy speed it would still do it.
Its down from 16x which is used to do no bother to 6x but no failures at this speed. |
