Does the R19 16v use the same fuel pump as the Clio 16v? Nobody seems to stock the fuel pump I need for my car (1994 5dr exec). I spoke to GSF car parts on the phone and they didn't stock it, said I'd have to get it direct from Renault cuz they didn't know anywhere else that stocked it either. Doh. Do all 19 16v's use same pump? Ph1 different to Ph2? 3dr different to 5dr? Silly questions probably, but I have already ordered 1 pump which turned out to be wrong so had to send it back.....and I'm confused as to why it was wrong! So I wanna get it RIGHT next time I order one, so what do I need? I assume it's IN the tank? The one I ordered was IN the tank, but was somehow wrong.....I dunno Confused

yes the pumps in the tank, yes its the same on all phases of 16V, yes its the same as the MAIN pump on the clio 16V, no its not the same as 1.4's, 1.7's etc.

Pumps not that hard to get a hold of. Anyway why not stick in a better pump, cheaper to get a higher flowing pump. They are usually bosch but they also have walbro pumps.

You do knwo the pumps a small metal object that you have to fit inside the pump housings casing yeah?

Um....no I didn't know that? So what sorta money are we talking about here? Yeah, sticking in a better pump sounds good to me. Makes sense like. So Bosch or Walbro. Do you know where I could get one from? Anywhere online? I've just about given up looking, but the fact I didn't ever know 100% exactly what I was lookin for didn't help that much! Cheers Chris Very Happy

Cheers for that Chris Very Happy I looked on demon tweeks yesterday quickly and they only seemed to have one for the clio 16v, hence my original question of are they the same pump. I'll have a quick look now see if I can find it again....

There, that's the one I was looking at. No option for the R19 16v, but they got one for the clio 16v. Is that the right thing I'm lookin for?

I don't see why not.

Thing is theres external pumps and internal pump. 99% these days are internal pumps so that shouldn;t ber a problem.

E-mail the guy and ask, easiest way to find out.

You don't seem so sure now lol. I will ask him then, see what he says. I don't wanna get it wrong on ebay, cuz like can't really send it back to ebay. When I got it wrong with GSF Car Parts before, it was no problem sending it back and getting a refund y'know. I'm trying to remember why it was wrong lastime. Umm.......something about the sender unit? Garage told me that the one on the car had a seperate pump & sender unit.......and I'd bought an all in one unit? Or something?? I have no idea. What I do know is that GSF only have one pump for the 16v, and if u say they're all the same, then there must only be one.........so how the hell did I get the wrong one?! If there's a way of doin somethin wrong, guaranteed I'll be the one to do it lol Wink

if they gave you the later model as fitted on meganes etc then it has the sender on it as well and abotu twice the price.

All fuel pumps are interchanagable, I'm usign a 1.2 clio effort in the white chamade but its not being used only started so its okj.

Any of those pumps will work fine, its just if you get an external pump your gonna have to do some mods.

i have seen your progress report on the white chammy chris ,you open that hatch thing under the passenger seat on the floor in order to get the fuel pump out .
is that a messy procedure ??? or is it just taking the fuel pump out and sticking a new one in plug in and close the hatch sort of job??

that hatch thing was kindly cut in the boot floor by a previous owner schakal, needs welded up.

The right way to do it is to drop the tank which is the way I do the job.
The quick, dodgy garage way is to cut holes in your car leaving a mess like that.

what was wrong with it?

Thats how its meant to look, unless it was the lower pressure pump for the 1.4.

Also thats the correct one cos your car has the seperate sender.

That's what I thought......like how can it be wrong if they only had one. Not like I had a choice and got it wrong. There was ONE pump for the R19 16v. Anyway, here's the top.....that tell u anything?

pic doesn't work and I'd need to see the fuel pumps body itself and the writing/part number on the side.
