like I said mate you need to get it running right before tryign to go any further.
the ECU compensates to an extent for everything. On georges after I done the head work the idle was a bit crap btu the car pulled very strongly to the limiter. |

but if it was the clutch then the revs would go up, and iv done a test by sticking it in 3rd and flooring it to see if its slipping and it stalls so i think the clutch is ok at the moment |

if its not revving up logically there should be something cutting the engine performance like air filter ,spark plugs ,plug leads etc me thinks |

I have the same engine in my car, and to a certain extend I had the same symptoms.
Under acceleration it just seemed to back off.
I have since changed the spark plugs for the proper ones ( which were listed on the cam cover ) BCP 5ES .
This has made a huge difference! it is alot smoother and also runs a bit hotter ( still within the normal ) which says to me that it was not burning all the fuel with the old plugs. I have also experienced better fuel economy.
Although a thousand times better...i still get the occasional very slight hiccup. The next thing I plan to change is the lamda probe, its a very simple job ( jinx ) and this I believe should be changed after a certain mileage anyway but is often overlooked.
Doing this will ensure that all the correct information will be sent to the ECU enabling it to do its job properly. |
