whats the name of the tool thats needed for changing pads on an ABS car and where can I get one from, I've got to do the rear pads on my laguna Rolling Eyes

what tool? Just screw them back in, do it slowly though. Or if your a big girl then screw it back in but open the bleed nipple.

ah I was told there is a toll to wind back the caliper.

There is a tool, i have one, it looks like a brake pad with a threaded bar that pushes the piston back in.

you mean a caliper spreader?

thats for the front calipers, rears you screw the piston itself back in.

Renault do have a tool and i have access to one but tbh i've never bothered to use it

so am i right in thinking the rear brake pistons go back into their bore differently? i have discs on the back of my 19TD which also has ABS. May need to change the back pads. Did the front ones today and just used a g-clamp to get the piston back in

for the front i just put the caliper back on and use a big screwdriver as a lever between the piston and the disc Rolling Eyes
