When I started up my car sometimes it sounds like there's a ticking tappet. When the engine warms up just a little (5 mins) it would be gone! Sometimes it would be gone after 2-4 secs but sometimes it would start just a few minutes after starting the engine (when real cold) and it would stop a few minutes later. Now i've put some TriStarLube in with oil and it all seems gone.
Also the car would sound like it were a diesel when it under +5 celsius outside (also something that becomes less and vanishes when getting warm) Also the TSL made this less
Anyone know what this could be? tappet on it's way out? Or just s**tty oil, it's been changed 5k miles ago along with the filter and was filled with elf 10w40 by renault. It does use oil so every 1k miles i have to put half a bottle of oil in (i use Kroon Oil SemiSynth 10w40)
Sorry for the long story
Cheers Peter |

Chris, cheers mate I've read the article but can't be a**ed to do this anytime soon, timewise
But you guys sure it's not gonna die on me soon because of it? Cus I spent a months wage on the car last month because of a clutch, a radiator and some engine mounts
