Hi all, Right story goes like this:
Mk 1 Clio 16v been pulling to left for a few months and inside of n/s tire worn down, changed tyre last week and booked tracking in for today ( sat).
Driving home from last week and all of a sudden a V Loud squeeling/whistling noise appears! whistles when going striaght, but squeel/screeches when going round corners!
i asked garage to have a look when they do tracking, went back to get car and apparantly the tracking is spot on!
As for the noise, they said it could be the castor or camber set up, or a driveshaft is fooked! im taking it in on monday to another garage who can check camber and castor set up.
So.. any one have any ideas of any thing else it could be also prices involved for sorting problems out?
Cheers |

That sounds similar to what happened to my clio a couple of weeks back.
The wheel bearing had dried up and seized. The squealing noise was the bearing outer casing spinning in the hub. Needed a complete new hub and bearing.
Jack the car up and give the wheel a good spin, see if you can locate the noise or if there is any resistance. |

I would check the wheel bearing.
I had a funny noise when turning right a couple of weeks ago. the shaft had pulled out of its inner casing and the wheel bearing had gone.
Only way to be sure is to jack it up and have a look, try spinning the wheel and see if you can locate the noise. |

I'd check all the nut's and bolts as well.
Bottom ball joint, hub, wheel nuts Etc. if all of them are tightened up properly then I'd personaly think it was the bearing. But I'm no mechanic.
If the bearing has gone, I would expect it to be noisy when you spin the wheel. |
