Hi guys, got myself a question a mate of mine has 1.6 16v engine in his car and he had a broken valve (it was split). The thing was you could only notice it when opening the oil filler cap (whilst running) cus the engine then was loosing pressure. Now when i have my engine running there is also pressure going away (in a puffing way) when i open my oil filler cap is this normal with the 19 16v engine or do i have a problem??
Cheers guys |

how can a broken valve in any way shape or form change the crank case pressure? It can't. Assuiming of course an inlet/exhaust valve
When you open the oil filler cap you allow un-metered air to enter the inlet manifold so the running will change. |

I don't really know what happened but the car did run with it and i'm not that kind of an expert that I know, I can only what the garage said to my mate but that's just bollocks. :S
But the car doens't run any different when opening the filler cap it just blows out in a puffing way (just like an exhaust) and smell a little like exhaust gasses?! But that's just oke?
Sorry for the for you guys maybe a little dumb question |
